Ateliers d'art de France presents

Les Aliénés du Mobilier national

Since the 17th century, Mobilier national has been relieving itself – after approval from the scientific committee – of pieces that were being stored and unused for a long time and which had lost their heritage character. These pieces become “Alienated”.
Galerie des Gobelins

With an ethical, innovative and ecological approach, Mobilier national has decided to entrust some pieces of the 19th and 20th centuries to about thirty visual artists who were excited to commit to the programme. The Mobilier national “Les Aliénés” exhibition also allows us to discover the modernity of the lines in these pieces and to reopen the “decorative” field to visual artists, for unique pieces and common works of art.
